Football is unduly one of the most popular sports today. In the United States, the National Football League or the NFL has always remained up there, attracting millions of viewers from all over the world. Fans of the league never get tired of supporting their favorite teams and players and have religiously followed the game each and every season.
The NFL started out with only 11 teams when it was founded in 1920. Today, its size has almost tripled. The game that is dubbed as "America's national pastime" currently has 32 teams and more than 1,000 players that compete every season.
Probably the most anticipated event in each NFL season is the Super Bowl. It is when division champs from the National Football Conference (NFC) and the American Football Conference (AFC) go up against each other to win the most-coveted prize, the Vince Lombardi Trophy.
Over the years, we have seen different teams take home the 22-inch tall and 7-pound sterling silver trophy. The Pittsburgh Steelers have won 6, the Dallas Cowboys and the San Francisco 49ers have taken home 5 apiece, and each of the following teams has gotten 3: Oakland Raiders, Green Bay Packers, New York Giants, Washington Redskins and New England Patriots.
Of course, I understand that not all of us can get the chance to watch the games live at the avenues. In this case, the internet and the television come really handy. Many different local and international television networks have bought the rights to air the games on their channels. There are also websites that simulcast the games.
