Jiu Jitsu Gi Tournaments In 2011

The beginning of this year is marked by Jiu Jitsu Gi tournaments. This year the World Professional Jiu Jitsu Cup will be held in 2011 in Abu Dhabi. It is the third annual largest Jiu Jitsu event in the world. The prize money is from a combined fund that is an amount of one million US dollars. The theme of Jiu Jitsu in 2011 is- one world, one fight. The discipline of the game is grappling. The concept of the game came into existence in 2009. The event has come up with a new set of rankings in accordance with the weight divisions.

The ranks of the athletes in Jiu Jitsu in 2011 will depend on the positions they achieved in the various events in the year 2009. A straight entry into the quarter finals will be given to those who occupied the first 4 positions in the 2009 cup. The entrance into the round of eight will be given to those who achieved the 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th positions. At the end of each season, the athletes will get more points in the ranking on submission. The athlete in the 1st position will get an extra 5000 points, the one in the 2nd position will get 3000 points and the 3rd one will get 2000 points.

In, Jiu Jitsu in 2011, the athlete will be able to defend his/her title on the basis of tryouts. In this case, the champion will have to defend himself/herself from the athlete who has attained the first rank. The Trial rankings are- in the trial category: 20 points will fetch you the first rank, 10 points will give you the second rank and 4 point will get you the third rank. In the weights category: 10points for the first rank, 5 points for the second rank and 2 points for the third. In the absolute category you will get: 1st rank if you get 40 points, 2nd rank if you get 20 points and 3rd rank if you get 8 points.

The format of Jiu Jitsu in 2011 and the prize of the Jiu Jitsu Gi divisions are as follows- in the men’s brown/black belt in the absolute category will win $30,000 for the 1st rank; $3,000 for the 2nd rank and $1,500 to the 3rd rank. In the weights category it is $8,000 to the one who comes 1st, $3,000 to the 2nd and $1,500 to the 3rd. In the female section, in the purple, brown or black belt there is no contest in the absolute level, there is place for only weights. They get $4,000; $2,000 and $500 to the first, second and third rank accordingly. In the white and blue belts female category, the first and second ranks get $3,000 and 1,500 respectively.

Again in the men’s brown/black belt in the absolute category $15,000; $1,500 and $750 are given to the 1st three positions respectively. In the weights category, they give $4,000; $1,500 and $750 to the first, second and two winners of the third position. In the men’s purple belt category there is no third place and the first two positions get $2,500 and 1,000 respectively. Similarly in the men’s blue belt, the first and second positions get $1,500 and $750 respectively. The competition dates are 8th- 9th and 14th-16th April 2011. The teams in Jiu Jitsu in 2011 are categorized as: 3stars- Korea, China, Jordan and Bahrain; 4stars- New Zealand, Poland and South Africa and finally the 5stars- Brazil, Canada, USA, Australia, Portugal, Sweden, Japan and United Kingdom.
