New Real Madrid head coach Julen Lopetegui insists he is delighted with his current goalkeepers amid speculation he is preparing a move for Thibaut Courtois.

The 26-year-old has only 12 months left on his current deal and Chelsea risk losing him on a free next summer if they don’t sell him before the Premier League transfer window shuts on August 9.

Reports on Wednesday claimed Courtois had handed the FA Cup holders an ultimatum, threatening to walk away in 12 month’s time unless he is sold this summer but Lopetegui, who replaced Zinedine Zidane in June, is adamant he is satisfied with Real Madrid’s current goalkeepers.

The reigning Champions League holders boast the talent of first choice Keylor Navas and young Ukrainian Andriy Lunin, recently signed from Zorya Luhansk.

Speaking after Madrid’s defeat to Manchester United in a pre-season friendly, Lopetegui said: ‘At no time am I going to talk about players who are not at Real Madrid.

‘I am thrilled with the goalkeepers that I have and I will not talk about players who are not part of this team.’

Chelsea, meanwhile, are already reported to be looking at the likes of Jack Butland and England World Cup hero Jordan Pickford as potential replacements for Courtois.
